One of Western Canada's leading hotel companies, Pomeroy Lodging LP (PLLP), announces the addition of three new hotel properties to its portfolio. This acquisition brings the Pomeroy portfolio to a total of 1650 rooms. The new properties include the Grande Prairie Inn, Grande Prairie Stonebridge Hotel, and Fort St. John Stonebridge Hotel. Along with these hotels, they have also acquired the GP Liquor Store, Fort St. John Liquor Store and Fort St. John Mackenzie Mall.
The Grande Prairie Inn is one of Grande Prairie's most historic hotel properties. Located next to the Prairie Mall, the Grande Prairie Inn features over 200 guest rooms, restaurant facilities, an indoor pool and the largest conference space in the city. Over the next several months this property will be fully renovated and restored to a first class facility, and will be rebranded a Pomeroy Hotel. Building on the success of the flagship Pomeroy Hotel in Fort St. John, the property will undergo a complete transformation, including the conversion of current guest rooms into urban contemporary suites and feature upscale food and beverage facilities, as well as a first in its class women's only floor. This ambitious renovation will also seek to update the over 10,000 square feet of sophisticated ballroom and meeting space, as well as the food and beverage and common areas.
The Stonebridge brand makes for an exciting addition to the portfolio of brands under the Pomeroy umbrella. Along with the acquisition of two properties that hold the Stonebridge Hotel flag, the transaction includes licensing rights to the Stonebridge brand. The company plans to look at future acquisition properties to grow the brand throughout Western Canada. The Stonebridge Grande Prairie offers 126 guest rooms and suites and boasts an indoor fitness centre, and a fine liquor, wine and beer store, banquet and dining facilities. The Stonebridge Fort St. John is a complete full service hotel with 127 newly renovated rooms, including kitchenettes, executive suites, in-room coffee, high-speed or wireless internet. Both properties feature 42" HD LCD TV's in all guest rooms.
